INFLUENCE OF INDOMARET AND ALFAMART AGAINST RIAU ECONOMIC

Talking about mini market, we are able directly to think both of famous mini markets in Indonesia tried to compete in getting public attention.They are form of modernization in trading which use technologies more efficient in transaction, facilities and service. They also have become familiar place to do shopping. Of course, almost everybody knows those are, exactly for modern society. We often see their building almost everywhere, not just in city but they have entered villages.Those mini markets are Indomaret and Alfamart. They are one of some franchise systems monopolizing trade in every sector national economic in globalization era.

Since the first time they were opened in 2014, it had given big contributions in improving Riau economic. They influenced Riau economic by collaborating culture and technologies against globalization flow. They also had gotten license from Riau government to develop their effort in economic sector. If we think their influence against Riau economic , we can find 2 opposite sides. those are:

For positive side, Alfamart and Indomaret have good facilities enough to support shopping activity and make shopper enjoy visiting them, such as using AC, CCTV, Cashier machine, etc. The facilities are specified by owner as policy that have to obey to every their store.They are also as form of trade in Riau have been ripe to adapt globalization era.

Moreover, every staff uses good service to serve shopper with clearly count of stuff in every shelves.They do that to keep their costumer trust.They also always keep their store clean to make their costumer stay with them.With those values that have been applied around their rule, they try to create pleasure season between staff and costumer relation.

Furthermore, they give ease to costumer to do transaction with some ways, such as using debit card, credit card and cash money. Using those ways are hoped capable grow pleasure feeling to do transaction.

While in negative side, they tried to close hawker and small store for poor people in Riau. We know that Riau have so many small trader depended on this job. So that, by appearing existence of Those mini markets with their excess in facilities, they will make the hawkers and small stores lose in trading world and also add more figure of jobless.

Next, in Indomaret and Alfamart we cannot offer stuff what we want to buy.  It means that, we as indirectly try to delete our culture to offer in market. So that, values and function of market will be lost.

Furthermore, stuffs in Indomaret and Alfamart more expansive than in small store because in those mini markets costumer must pay tariff of the facilities by increasing count of stuff 5%-10% depend on the stuff self and their every store and also to close their hole in special period, like new year, idul adha, idul fitri, etc.

Well, those are points related influence of Indomaret and Alfmart  against Riau economic. Government also should concern to hawker and small stores in order we can balance between national economic and jobless.

RIAU SONGKET

Riau is a part of Indonesia that so rich of their kazanah culture. The rich culture can we see from malay ornament on their clothes, exactly their songket. Riau songket is one of some songket in Indonesia that have been famous since 14 century ago.It becomes famous based on motif and color to make people interest about it’s beautiful. By using kind of motif and color on fabric, weaver try to show malay philosophy values inside it. It is made by weaving fabric and striving to create beauty and imply malay philosophy values in every symbols of it.It also as icon of malay culture to show someone’s wisdom.

For Malayan, every motif and color insongket have difference meaning based on their region. But the difference meaning does not become weakness for them.Their perspective as media instead to keep and remind malay values philosophy in this life against globalization era tried to remove them. Those meaning are: itik pulang petang, pucuk rebung, awan larat, and lebah bergantung.

Itik Pulang Petang has meaning pictured their cohesive and behavior to walk together. Based on name of it, it was taken from itik’s behavior to walk together when they go to somewhere.

Pucuk Rebung has meaning symbolized as a power appeared from inside of it. From the meaning, every region in Riau has different perspective such as reminder to always keep walking, thinking clearly and friendly around our life.

Awan Larat has meaning as expression immortal or long lifespan symbolized by combination among pyramid strident and other motif except star, until become roof, leave, flower, etc. Awan Larat was inspired by cloud always moves to everywhere and collaborated with other parts of it. From another story as background of it in Malayan’s life, it was inspired by a kid named awam was drawing line twists and turns become a beauty picture.

Lebah Bergantung has meaning symbolized as sweet life of household, sacrifice of king and always emphasize hospitality life in their environment.
